Mike joined the Habit Burger Grill in September 2011 as VP of IT, a department of one for the 37 unit brand. He was promoted to Chief Information Officer prior to taking the company public in 2014 and most recently to Chief Digital and Technology Officer after the acquisition by Yum!. In his current capacity, Mike oversees all brand information and technology needs for the now 385 unit chain – from restaurant operations, to corporate systems, network & security, as well as consumer facing digital experiences, software development, and data and AI strategies. Mike is a member of the Habit Executive and Yum! Global Technology Leadership teams. He has served on several customer advisory boards and engaged in various public speaking events.
In 2018 Mike and team led the company’s digital transformation journey to becoming an "All Access brand" – a fully owned, truly integrated omnichannel e-commerce guest experience. Prior to working for Habit/Yum!, Mike worked in a similar capacity at 3 other restaurant concepts – Islands Fine Burgers and Drinks, Cocos & Carrows and Real Mex Restaurants. While at Islands, Mike was responsible for the design and development of the Tracks restaurant management platform – later sold to Yum! Brands.
Mike has received a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from National University. He met his wife of 24 years while working as a host at Islands Restaurant. They have 3 children, 2 of which are NCAA athletes with the youngest currently looking to make it 3 for 3!
