No child should go hungry in America, but one in six kids will face hunger this year. That’s 16 million kids whose health, education and futures are at risk. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the school day with a nutritious breakfast, they get the food they need in the summer when school is out but hunger is in, and, year-round, families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget.
We get this job done with the support of the restaurant industry. This year, nearly 15,000 restaurants around the country are raising funds to help end childhood hunger by participating in Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, because no one understands the power of food better than the foodservice community. In Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, participating restaurants stand out by standing against childhood hunger, engaging their guests through valuable promotions and rewards in return for donations. Since its launch in 2008, restaurants have raised $37 million in support of No Kid Hungry to help ensure every kid gets healthy meals every day.
